Our Easter

This year we spent Easter in Utah with my cousin, Nicole, and her family.  It was a lot of fun catching up with family and watching these little cousins get to know each other.  Jesse was excited for an entire week (almost) before we went down!

Casey wasn't able to celebrate with us.  He'd been planning a fishing trip for the second weekend in April and had everything all squared away before we realized it was Easter!  Oh well, we had a good time anyway.

The kids were visited by the Easter Bunny on Saturday night, then enjoyed a few surprises Sunday morning, including a kite, new clothes, candy, money, an egg hunt, candy, toys, candy, coloring books and crayons....and what else...oh, candy. Breyan's word for the weekend: candy.

We only made it through Sacrament Meeting on Sunday, thanks to my children and 1) their inability to cope with physical pain (a head smacked on a metal chair), 2) their inability to sit anywhere but on Mom's lap, and 3) the fact that they both were suffering from a major lack of sleep and were sick.  Actually, we were very blessed to survive as long as we did!

The plan was to pack up our things, eat dinner, then drive back to Evanston, but even the best laid plans go astray.  As I was dragging things out to the car, fumbling through my purse for my keys, I was hit with one of those sinking feelings.  I searched three times, but couldn't find my car keys anywhere!  They were locked in the trunk. awesome.  Luckily my husband was going to be nearby Monday morning for an eye surgery, so I called him up and he came early that morning to rescue us.  On the upside, we were able to spend another night with the cousins!

Now we're all home, safe and sound and sick.  Too much candy + too little sleep.  Oh well, we had fun!
