Something Fun

Casey had some time off work this week so we asked Jesse if he wanted to do something fun.  Of course he said yes! We decided to check out the Living Planet Aquarium in Utah and the kids loved it!  Casey and I were a little disappointed, thinking it was going to be quite a bit bigger, but it's good for kids.

The best part for me was petting the rays and seeing the snakes and seahorses.  Jesse liked the clownfish, and he actually called them clownfish, not Nemo, which made his mama proud. And Breyan was content to hiss at the snakes and yell out "fish" as much as possible! Both of the kids were great the entire time- no tantrums, tears, or meltdowns.  They watched the penguins and sat on the giant frog.  Jess was a little nervous about the jellyfish, and let us know that he wasn't going to eat a spider or cockroach (where did that come from???).

When we finished with the aquarium we went out to lunch.  Again, the kids were pretty well-behaved!  It was the first time in three years that we didn't leave a bunch of food on the floor of a restaurant.  Success!!!

On the drive home Breyan slept, Jesse watched Toy Story 3, Casey and I actually got to have a conversation, and no one wet their pants.

This morning Jessse can't stop talking about the aquarium and keeps asking when we can do something fun.  I'm glad we get to do fun things!

What a fun day! I'm glad it all turned out so well. I am wishing there was an aquarium or zoo closer than Seattle or Portland for us to visit. That would be awesome.
